Identiv Proximity Credential & Compatible RapidPROX® Alternatives
Looking for Identiv proximity cards for an existing 125 kHz access control system? ID Enhancements does not currently sell Identiv-branded credentials. Instead, we offer RapidPROX® compatible proximity credentials that can provide an alternative for many existing Identiv proximity card applications.
RapidPROX® credentials are available in popular access-control form factors including clamshell proximity cards, printable ISO cards and key fobs. Depending on your existing Identiv credential technology and programming, RapidPROX® may be configured to work with the same access control environment while providing a readily available replacement credential option.
Send us the information from your existing card, box label or previous order. The credential format, facility code and card number range can help us determine the correct RapidPROX® replacement.
What Are Identiv Proximity Cards?
Identiv proximity cards are contactless credentials historically used in physical access control systems. Many of these credentials use 125 kHz low-frequency RFID proximity technology and were available in multiple physical configurations, including thick clamshell cards, thin printable ISO cards, composite cards, magnetic stripe cards, key fobs and adhesive credentials.
Organizations with established Identiv proximity installations may still need additional cards for new employees, replacement credentials for lost or damaged cards or additional key fobs. In many applications, it may not be necessary to locate the original Identiv-branded credential. A properly configured RapidPROX® compatible replacement credential may allow the existing reader infrastructure to remain in place.
Replacing Common Identiv Proximity Card Types
Identiv 4000 Clamshell Card Replacement
The Identiv 4000 is a thick clamshell-style 125 kHz proximity credential. If your system currently uses this type of Identiv card, a RapidPROX® clamshell credential may provide a compatible replacement when ordered with the appropriate technology and programming.

Access control compatibility is determined by more than the name printed on the credential. The important factors are the RF technology, card data format, facility code and credential number.
If a RapidPROX® credential supports the technology and programming required by the existing access control system, it may be used as an alternative to the original Identiv-branded card without replacing the facility's existing readers.
125 kHz Does Not Tell the Whole Story
Identiv proximity credentials and RapidPROX® credentials may both operate at 125 kHz, but frequency alone does not guarantee that one card can replace another.
Credentials also contain programmed data that the access control system expects to receive. That is why identifying the existing credential format and numbering is an important part of replacing Identiv cards.
Facility Code & Card Number
Many traditional proximity systems use a credential format containing a facility code and individual card number.
If you are adding cards to an existing system, we can often use the current facility code along with the next available card number range to configure compatible RapidPROX® credentials.

Identiv Replacement Card FAQs
Does ID Enhancements sell Identiv proximity cards?
ID Enhancements does not sell Identiv-branded proximity credentials. We offer RapidPROX® proximity cards and key fobs that provide a compatible replacement for many Identiv 125 kHz proximity applications.
Can RapidPROX® replace an Identiv proximity card?
In many applications, a compatible RapidPROX® credential may be used instead of the original Identiv-branded card. The credential technology, format, facility code and card number requirements should be verified before ordering.
What replaces an Identiv 4000 proximity card?
The Identiv 4000 is a clamshell-style 125 kHz proximity credential. A compatible RapidPROX® clamshell credential may be an appropriate replacement depending on the card technology and programming used by the existing system.
What replaces an Identiv 4010 proximity card?
The Identiv 4010 is a thin printable proximity credential. For compatible systems, a printable RapidPROX® ISO-style proximity card may provide an alternative while allowing the card to continue serving as both an access credential and printed employee ID.
What replaces an Identiv 4082 key fob?
A RapidPROX® 125 kHz proximity key fob may be used for compatible Identiv applications when the credential is programmed appropriately for the existing access control system.
Do I have to replace my readers to change from Identiv to RapidPROX®?
Not necessarily. When a RapidPROX® credential is compatible with the existing reader technology and programmed in the format required by the access control system, the existing reader infrastructure can often continue to be used.
How do I know what format my Identiv card uses?
Check the original credential box label, previous purchase records or information stored in your access control system. If you have the existing Identiv credential information, ID Enhancements can help determine what is needed to order a compatible RapidPROX® credential.
