About the ShadowProx® System
The ShadowProx® family of 125 kHz proximity readers is engineered to deliver dependable read performance while providing an additional layer of access control security. Each compatible reader verifies credential authenticity before transmitting card data to the host system, helping prevent unauthorized credentials from entering the access control network.
ShadowProx readers are available in attractive architectural bezel styles and multiple mounting configurations, making them suitable for virtually any installation. Readers can be mounted on door mullions, walls, single-gang electrical boxes, double-gang electrical boxes, or other flat mounting surfaces.
ShadowProx credentials utilize Kantech's proprietary KSF (Kantech Secure Format), providing enhanced credential security while minimizing the possibility of duplicate card numbers. Organizations planning future migrations may also utilize Kantech's multiCLASS® readers, which support both traditional 125 kHz ShadowProx credentials and newer 13.56 MHz iCLASS® smart card technologies, allowing a gradual transition without immediately replacing every credential.
