Description
The Adams Rite 8803-36 is a 36-inch 8800 Series narrow-stile rim exit device designed for commercial aluminum door applications requiring dependable life-safety egress and enhanced security. Featuring Adams Rite's distinctive Starwheel interlocking latch system, the device securely engages the strike to help resist jamb spreading while allowing fast, code-compliant egress through the push bar.

When the door closes, the Starwheel bolt and interlocking noseguard engage around the strike. The deadlocking mechanism then secures the Starwheel to the strike, creating a strong mechanical connection between the door and frame. Pressing the exit device push bar retracts the deadlocking mechanism and releases the door for egress.

The 8803 night-latch function requires a compatible rim cylinder for keyed exterior operation. Adams Rite identifies the 8736 rim cylinder as a compatible option. Cylinders, exterior pulls and entry trim should be ordered separately unless specifically included in your configured package.
Adams Rite supplies both the standard strike and the narrow strike used for centering doors in a 4" jamb with the 8800 Series exit device, providing installers with flexibility for common commercial aluminum door preparations.
