Description
Kantech KT-1 One-Door IP Access Control Controller
Compact Ethernet-ready door control with two-reader support, PoE, standalone web management and EntraPass integration.
Flexible IP Access Control for One Secured Door
The Kantech KT-1 One-Door IP Controller is a compact, Ethernet-ready access control panel designed to manage one secured door with readers installed on one or both sides. Its small single-gang form factor, built-in web configuration and flexible power options make the KT-1 ideal for small businesses, remote entrances, branch offices and commercial access control systems requiring a cost-effective path to future expansion.
The KT-1 supports Power over Ethernet, PoE+ or 12 VDC input. When appropriate PoE network equipment is used, power and Ethernet communication can be delivered through one network cable, reducing wiring and installation requirements at the controlled opening.
The controller can operate in Standalone Mode through its embedded web server or integrate with compatible Kantech EntraPass Security Management Software. This flexibility allows an organization to begin with one independently managed door and transition to centralized, multi-door or multi-site access control as its security requirements grow.
One Controller—Two Deployment Options
Standalone Mode provides browser-based management for basic one-door access control without requiring EntraPass software. For organizations needing centralized cardholder administration, event monitoring, reports and system expansion, the same KT-1 can be incorporated into a compatible EntraPass-managed access control system.

PoE, Lock Power and Reader Power Considerations
The selected power method affects how much power is available to connected readers and the locking device. Standard PoE provides less available lock power than PoE+ or an appropriate 12 VDC supply. The complete system load should be calculated before selecting the controller power source.
According to Kantech specifications, lock-device power is typically up to 250 mA at 12 VDC when using PoE and up to 750 mA at 12 VDC when using PoE+ or the specified 12 VDC input. An auxiliary power supply may be required for locks or accessories with higher power demands.
Confirm the KT-1 Configuration Before Ordering
KT-1: Ethernet-ready one-door controller in a compact plastic housing for single-gang mounting.
KT-1-PCB: Controller board intended for installation in a compatible metal cabinet. The cabinet is not included with the PCB-only model.
KT-1-M: KT-1-PCB controller supplied with the applicable metal cabinet configuration.
Before ordering, verify the required housing, reader technology, credential format, locking hardware, request-to-exit device, door contact, power supply, PoE capacity, EntraPass edition and applicable software licensing.
Professional installation is recommended. Access control equipment must be installed in accordance with applicable electrical, building, fire and life-safety requirements.
Why Choose the Kantech KT-1?
The Kantech KT-1 provides a practical balance of compact hardware, local controller intelligence and scalable IP connectivity. It is well suited for organizations that need dependable credential-based control at one door without installing an oversized access control cabinet. Standalone browser management makes it appropriate for smaller projects, while EntraPass compatibility provides a clear migration path to centralized, multi-door and multi-site access control.
Kantech KT-1 Frequently Asked Questions
How many doors does the Kantech KT-1 control?
