The Keri Systems® KB-2D-CTL Borealis™ KB Controller is a next-generation cloud-hosted access control solution engineered to simplify deployment, reduce infrastructure complexity, and deliver intelligent edge-based security management for modern commercial environments. Designed specifically for the Keri Borealis™ Cloud Access Control platform, this cost-effective 2-door controller combines advanced cloud functionality with local decision-making intelligence to minimize reliance on network traffic while maintaining secure and reliable operation.

Unlike traditional server-dependent access control systems, the Borealis KB Controller is designed to operate efficiently with minimal bandwidth consumption by processing critical door decisions locally at the controller level. This architecture helps improve system responsiveness while conserving valuable LAN/WAN network resources across distributed facilities, remote offices, schools, healthcare campuses, retail environments, warehouses, apartment complexes, and multi-site enterprise installations.

The controller features built-in TCP/IP Ethernet connectivity, eliminating the need for separate network adapters and simplifying installation using existing CAT-5/6 infrastructure. Integrated cloud hosting and secure cloud backup capabilities provide centralized management without the burden of maintaining on-site servers. The Borealis Connect App further streamlines deployment through QR code controller enrollment and Scan & Go functionality, allowing installers and integrators to rapidly provision systems in the field.

Supporting up to 10,000 cardholders and a 10,000-event buffer, the KB-2D-CTL delivers enterprise-class scalability in a compact and economical footprint. For expanded system functionality, each controller supports up to two Keri NXT-4x4 Input/Output expansion boards per RS-485 bus, enabling additional monitoring points, relay outputs, alarm integration, and advanced automation capabilities.

Designed for flexibility and long-term reliability, the controller includes re-assignable inputs and outputs, quick-disconnect terminal connectors for easier servicing, and ships housed in a secure locking metal enclosure for professional commercial installations.
