Description
The Viking Electronics SR-1 is a powerful single-line loud telephone ringer and door chime designed for warehouses, manufacturing areas, loading docks, stockrooms, offices, retail facilities and other locations where a standard telephone ringer may be difficult to hear. Operating from either a ringing analog telephone line or contact closure, the SR-1 delivers up to 90 dB at 1 meter and provides four selectable ringing sounds plus a separate door-chime tone for visitor, door-open or assistance notifications.
Standard phone ringers can easily be missed in large or noisy facilities. The Viking SR-1 loud ringer provides a stronger audible signal for incoming calls, helping employees hear telephone activity in areas with machinery, shipping operations, high ceilings, background noise or increased distance from the telephone.
The built-in speaker provides approximately 90 dB sound output at 1 meter. For applications requiring even greater coverage, Viking specifies output of up to 105 dB when used with an optional Viking 25AE external speaker.
The SR-1 allows the installer to select from four distinctive ringing sounds, making it easier to choose an audible alert that fits the facility or helps distinguish telephone ringing from other equipment.

In addition to telephone ringing, the Viking SR-1 includes a separate contact input for a door-chime sound. A momentary contact closure activates a distinctive ding-dong tone, allowing the same device to provide audible notification for a doorbell, door-open sensor, push-for-assistance button or other dry-contact signaling device.
This dual-purpose design makes the SR-1 particularly useful in reception areas, warehouses, shipping departments and commercial facilities where both incoming telephone calls and door activity need to be heard from a distance.
