Description
DESFire | NXP MIFARE® DESFire® EV3 8K ISO Cards – Customer Choice of Imprinted Number
Equip your access control system with NXP MIFARE® DESFire® EV3 8K ISO Cards while selecting the visible numbering option that best fits your credential program. Customers may choose cards with an imprinted number for easier card identification and inventory control or select the available non-imprinted configuration when a cleaner card surface is preferred. The underlying NXP DESFire EV3 8K credential remains the same, regardless of the selected visible numbering option.
Each card incorporates an NXP MIFARE DESFire EV3 8K contactless IC operating at 13.56 MHz. The high-capacity memory and flexible application architecture support sophisticated multi-application credential programs, including physical access control, transportation, campus services, time and attendance, secure identification and cashless applications.
DESFire EV3 builds upon the proven DESFire platform with AES-based authentication, secure messaging, Secure Dynamic Messaging, transaction protection and configurable security capabilities. The standard CR80 ISO card format is suitable for professional credential programs requiring dependable contactless performance, advanced data protection and room for future application expansion.
Select Your Imprinted Number Option
This listing allows you to select the preferred visible-number configuration when ordering. An imprinted number can help personnel identify, issue, inventory and replace individual credentials. Selecting no imprinted number provides a cleaner appearance when visible factory numbering is not required. This choice affects only the visible marking on the card and does not change the NXP DESFire EV3 8K chip technology, memory capacity or contactless performance.
Key Features
Benefits of Imprinted Card NumbersA visible imprinted number provides a convenient reference that can assist with receiving, inventory, issuance and credential replacement. Security personnel and administrators can visually distinguish one card from another without requiring a reader or software lookup. Organizations that do not require visible card numbering may select the non-imprinted option. Both configurations use the same DESFire EV3 8K technology, allowing the numbering choice to be based on operational preferences rather than electronic performance. Recommended Applications

Frequently Asked Questions
What imprinted-number options are available?
This listing allows the customer to select the preferred visible-number configuration. Review the available product options when ordering or contact ID Enhancements when specific visible-number requirements must be confirmed.
Does the imprinted-number choice change the card technology?
No. The visible numbering option does not change the NXP MIFARE DESFire EV3 8K chip, memory capacity, operating frequency or contactless security capabilities.
Why would I select an imprinted number?
A visible number can make receiving, inventory control, credential issuance and replacement easier by providing administrators with a convenient visual reference for each card.
Can I choose a card without an imprinted number?
Select the applicable non-imprinted option when available. A card without visible numbering provides a cleaner appearance while retaining the same DESFire EV3 8K electronic technology.
Is the imprinted number the same as the electronic chip identifier?
Not necessarily. A visible imprinted number and an electronically read chip identifier serve different purposes and should not be assumed to match unless that relationship is specifically established for the ordered configuration.
How much memory does this DESFire EV3 card provide?
This credential provides 8K Bytes of nonvolatile application memory. Its larger capacity is well suited to multi-application deployments requiring separate files, keys, access rights and secure services.
What is the difference between DESFire EV3 and DESFire EV2?
DESFire EV3 builds upon the EV2 platform and adds or enhances capabilities such as Secure Dynamic Messaging, the Transaction Timer and additional transaction-security functionality. Feature availability depends on credential programming and reader-system configuration.
Does this card support multiple applications?
Yes. DESFire EV3 uses a flexible application and file structure that can support multiple independent services on one credential, subject to available memory, key management and system programming.
Will any 13.56 MHz reader read this credential?
No. Frequency alone does not establish compatibility. The reader must support MIFARE DESFire EV3 or an applicable DESFire operating mode, along with the required keys, application structure and security settings.
Can these cards be slot punched?
Since these cards do not have slot indicators, we do not recommend punching this particular card. Slot punching should only be performed after confirming a safe punch location. Contactless smart cards contain an internal antenna that can be permanently damaged if the card is punched in the wrong area.
Are these the same as MIFARE Classic cards?
No. MIFARE DESFire EV3 and MIFARE Classic use different security, memory and programming architectures. They should not be treated as interchangeable without confirming reader and system compatibility.
